This blog came about from my interest in hospitality and manners that began at a very young age. I took a class in etiquette when I was eight years old based on the book "White Gloves and Party Manners" by Marjabelle Young and Ann Buckwald. The following Christmas, I received my first cookbook, "Betty Crocker's Boys and Girls Cook Book". These two events inspired my first dinner party given by my friend Betsy and I for our parents. The entire evening was produced by two 9 year old girls who set the table, selected and prepared the meal, and served our parents. This is still one of my favorite childhood memories! A lifetime of hospitality and a commitment to give the gift of good manners to my own children has led to the creation of this website. My hope is that I can be here to offer you encouragement and advice that will benefit you and your family in this exciting adventure of raising tactful adults!
As my guest here, you are welcomed into an important conversation. I plan to learn as much from you and your experiences as I hope you can learn from mine. This is a place to chat...over coffee, during nap time, waiting at sports practices, music or dance lessons. We can take the conversation wherever we go. Feel free to ask a question and I will do my best to give you a helpful answer.
